cottage kitchen: abuse victim gets new lease on life

The original kitchen had been abused by renters and neglected by owners for many years.  It was a cluttered mess when we arrived.
Once we cleared out the clutter, we could see what a truly hideous kitchen we had on our hands! The plan was to gut the kitchen, install new oak cabinets with tile countertops, add a dishwasher, and move the sink and refrigerator for a more logical layout.
Here is the same view as shown in the two photos above, after we were finished.  You can see that the window into an adjacent room was closed off, and the sink relocated from the left wall to the back wall.
The before photo of the adjacent wall.  We moved the refrigerator, but the new layout left the stove/cooktop in essentially the same location.
And the after photo of the above scene.

This kitchen was a sorry mess when we arrived.  It was gutted to the plaster, the sink and refrigerator were moved for a better layout, a new dishwasher was added, new oak cabinets were installed, with tile countertops and floor.
