The writing instrument shown in the drawing eliminates fumbling around in your tool pouch for a pencil or a lumber crayon and always coming up with the wrong one. It also lets you get more use out of your lumber pencil because instead of tossing your pencil when it gets down below 2 in. long, the plastic tubing lets you use it right down to the nib.
