When putting up plywood sheathing or siding, I use the angle-iron hooks shown in the drawing to support the bottom edge. They keep the bottoms straight, and the -in. offset ensures that the plywood will overlap the foundation. To use the hooks, I drive them between the mudsill and the foundation, place the panel and nail it along the edges for position. Then I pry the hooks out with my hammer’s claw. I painted them yellow to keep from losing them in the mud.
