Holesaw Hook Hole Saw Tool Review
The Holesaw Hook fits into the paired slots in the sides of a hole saw, grabs the bottom or side of a plug, and pops it out
The Holesaw Hook is a bent piece of spring-steel wire turned inward at the ends to form hooks. The hooks slide into the paired slots in the sides of a hole saw and grab the bottom or side of a plug. The Holesaw Hook even extracted a 2x plug that I had buried to the seat of the hole saw. To get rid of that plug, I had to reset the hooks twice in the plug’s side, moving it out a little each time. When I’d moved the plug enough to slip the hooks behind it, an easy tug popped the plug right out.
I think that the Holesaw Hook specifications underrate its capacity. Had I read them before I removed the plugs in my 3-in. and 3-3/4-in. saws, I’d never have known that the manufacturer claims that the tool works only on hole-saw sizes up to 2-1/2 in. The Holesaw Hook seems no worse for wear for the overextension, and I’ll do it again.
