Keep Nails and Screws Off of the Floor with a Tool-belt Caddy
If you need all of the tools and fasteners you’ve got in your nail bags, but you don’t want to put on your belt because you’re afraid you will scratch those brand new kitchen cabinets, you could drag the bags around by hand and hope that the nails don’t spill all over the place when you set them down, but there’s a better way.
This is a tip that I came up with and submitted to my pal Chuck. When I finally got tired of dragging my tool belt around, I built this simple plywood box. I’ve got 1/4-in. sides, I’ve got a 1/2-in. divider in the middle, and what it does is turn my nail apron into a toolbox. The bags and belt wrap around the center divider, the hammer slips into the middle of the box behind the bags, and now I’m good to go. Tools won’t spill on the floor in the kitchen I’m working on or in the back of my truck.
Pretty clever, huh? Chuck thanks me for sending this one in.
