Solid, straightforward glass hardware

Glass knobs and pulls by Sietto

• Manufactured by Sietto
• 312-513-6968; www.sietto.com
• Cost: $16 to $24 apiece

A refreshing change from some of the gaudy glass hardware on the market, Sietto's knobs and pulls take their name from the combination of solido and schietto, two Italian words that mean solid and straightforward. Each hand-cut piece of glass is fused in a kiln to create a range of styles and textures. After cooling, the 3/8-in.-thick glass pieces are anchored to a brass base, which is available with an oil-rubbed bronze, satin-nickel, or polished-chrome finish.

The square knobs measure approximately 11/4 in. square; the long knobs are approximately 2 in. by 1 in.; and the full-size pulls are 5 in. long by 11/8 in. wide. All have a projection of about 1 in. Custom sizes are also available.
