Removable tub surround

A wooden enclosure provdes warmth and character, and easy access to plumbing

Our original plan was to enclose the tub with travertine tiles to match the rest of the tub surround. As we thought about it, though, we realized there would be no way to access the pipes and motor underneath the tub. We had seen another tub with a wood enclosure instead of tile, and we liked the warmth it provided. From that sprang the idea of using the same door panels that we had used for the rest of the bathroom cabinetry. Ours came from the Master Bath Collection at The Home Depot. We ordered three extra door panels for the tub surround and attached them with magnets for easy installation and removal.
Seamless look. The same cabinet fronts were used for both the vanity and the front of the tub surround.Seamless look. The same cabinet fronts were used for both the vanity and the front of the tub surround.
No nails required. Magnets hold the cabinet fronts in place and removal is a cinch. No nails required. Magnets hold the cabinet fronts in place and removal is a cinch.
