We have a rich heritage of residential architecture in this country. For that reason, “traditional” can mean a lot of different things in terms of our homes. In this case, we’re celebrating a bungalow remodeled with authentic Art and Crafts style. The project was undertaken as an investment opportunity, a remodel to be completed and sold. The house needed a new foundation, so it was raised and then moved for better siting on the lot. The floor plan was reworked for modern living. And all of the details were designed and executed with the same level of care and craftsmanship as the original Arts and Crafts homes of the early 1900s. It’s no surprise that the home is now occupied by happy new owners. Congratulations to Anthony Harnden for designing our best traditional home of 2016.
