Glass-Block Shower on a Curve

This shower-stall alternative lets in the light, offers privacy, and makes a small space feel roomy

Traditional shower stalls certainly serve a useful purpose in any house, but if you're looking to change things up, why not consider a glass-block shower? Better yet, make the glass-block wall curved, too. Tile expert Tom Meehan outlines the steps and products he uses to work with glass block to ensure that he builds a structurally sound shower wall. Meehan begins by building the curb with concrete blocks. Then, after carefully setting the first course of blocks, he builds the wall, finishing the project by cleaning, grouting, and then cleaning the wall again. Meehan includes information on the materials he uses to ensure a strong wall, including panel anchors, expansion strips, and joint reinforcement.
