Keep Your Basement Dry With a Curtain Drain
If your house is under assult from groundwater, make perforated pipe your first line of defense
Leaky basements are a nuisance, but landscape contractor Eric Nelson has a solution for that problem: a curtain drain to channel groundwater away from the house and basement. Set in a trench that slopes downhill, a length of perforated pipe wrapped in filter fabric is sloped gently downhill to direct water out of harm's way. The curtain drain is covered with a layer of gravel to keep it accessible in case blockages need clearing or repairs need to be made.
