Rolling scaffold storage

It’s always useful to have wheels under bulky tools and materials that need to be moved around. The drawing shows how I took advantage of my scaffold frames with wheels to store frame sections. I used two pieces of 3/4-in. EMT conduit to make a pair of 56-in.-long cross braces. I flattened their ends and drilled holes in them with a 9/16-in. bit for the pins that affix them to the frames. A 1/4-in. bolt acts as an axle where the braces cross. Two shelves made from scrap 2x4s complete the storage system.

This setup easily stores a dozen frames off the deck. And the wheel set allows the whole thing to be rolled out of the way or to the door for transport.
