Cut a Thin Strip of Drywall Without Breaking It

Move away from the edge a few inches and score it twice

You may not need a thin drywall strip very often, but when you do, it can be frustrating if it keeps breaking. In this video, Pat Carrasco, freelance author and Bozeman, Montana, drywall hanger, shows that cutting 3/4-in. and smaller strips of 5/8-in. drywall isn't difficult, it just requires care and a couple of extra steps to accomplish.
