Solar Hot Water

Look over the shoulder of an expert installer as he fastens panels to the roof and explains how the system works

Length: 3:09
Produced By: Cari Delahanty and Michael Dobsevage

Depending on where you live-in this case the site is in the Northeast-upwards of 80% of your annual hot water can be produced by the sun. In this video, expert installer Scott Andrews takes you up on the roof while he installs the temperature-activated collector panels and down to the basement, the home's solar station, where a conventional and solar water tank and heat exchanger work in tandem to bring hot water up to your shower or appliances.
