PaperStone Countertop

Paper beats rock in this new countertop material

Length: 1:37
Produced By: Tom Olivares

In this video from West Coast Green 2007, Fine Homebuilding editor Chris Ermides introduces you to the next generation of countertops. Made with bamboo fibers and recycled wood chips, PaperStone is the only countertop material made with a water-based resin. The material contains no VOCs and is UV-stable, so the color stays true year after year. PaperStone isn't just eco-friendly; it's also homeowner-friendly. It can be customized on site with a carbide-tipped router bit, scratches can easily be sanded out with 150-grit sandpaper, and the surface cleans up with any nonabrasive cleaner.
