Announcing Your Best Built-ins & Cabinets

comments (0) December 18th, 2009 in Blogs

Dozens of able craftsmen entered our Build it in & Win gallery contest but in the end, we had to narrow it down to three. To be honest, this is never easy, as the quality of pieces posted in our gallery on a daily basis are top notch. Thanks to all of you who participated and to Stanley Tools, who supplied some fantastic prize packages! Now, without further ado, here are our winners:

First Place
Hinged Entertainment Center by Edwin Smart

Smart's innovative entertainment center swings right out from the side of a beautiful stone fireplace. This makes it possible to enjoy the big screen from either the kitchen or the dining room. Well done, Edwin!

Second Place
Mahogany Library by Peter Grahn

Grahn's use of rich mahogany for a mantle, built-in bookcases and paneling brings to mind the old world charm of a British manor's library. Beautifully designed and skillfully executed, the space created by Grahn has "warm and inviting" written all over it. Cheers, Peter!

Third Place
Greene & Greene Remodel by Tom Gallenberg

Greene & Greene is most certainly one of the more difficult styles to pull off successfully but Tom Gallenberg really put his skills to the test with the creation of custom leaded glass sconces just loaded with beautiful joinery. Tom really went the extra mile and it shows!

For their efforts, our three winners will each be taking home a Stanley prize package loaded with homebuilding goodies. Congratulations to all the winners! And if you didn't place this time around, don't fret, as we've got plenty of other gallery contests up our sleeves to keep your saw blades spinning!
