Update - March 9, 2010:
It's official. FHB readers can now access the Lunch Pail Podcast through iTunes.

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Fine Homebuilding's Official Lunch Pail Podcast. Every week, FHB readers will be able to tune in and listen as our editors cover a variety of topics--from new products and materials, to code changes and building basics. Every week, our staffers will plop down in front of the mic, armed with a free pizza lunch, and chime in on whatever subjects they choose. So turn on, tune in, and enjoy. And don't be shy with your comments. Let us know which topics you'd like us to cover. We're all ears. Oh, and don't be surprised if you hear us munching on pepperoni from time-to-time!

And be sure to check back. In the coming weeks, we'll be activating our iTunes store feed and fans will be able to subscribe to the free podcast from there as well.

This Week on the Podcast:

Ed Pirnik
Web Producer and Host

My job is simple: provide enough pizza and soda to keep the staff happy to return to our weekly Lunch Pail Podcast.

Brian Pontolilo
FHB Editor-in-Chief

The captain of our ship, Brian Pontolilo, delivers his thoughts on insulation and timber-frame, while grilling our guys about their thoughts on a variety of subjects. Plus, surprising revelations from our most recent reader survey. Who'd have thought paint prep could be so popular?

Justin Fink
FHB Senior Editor

This week, Justin Fink airs his gripes over attic insulation misconceptions and the myth that "heat always rises." For more information on Justin's topics this week:
Attic Insulation Upgrade
Blowing Fiberglass Insulation

Rob Yagid
FHB Associate Editor

Rob Yagid introduces us to a New Hampshire outfit that builds what some might call "timber-frame homes for the every man." Truth-be-told however, we REALLY brought Rob in to clue us in on the mammoth-sized tools these folks use.

Be sure to check out Rob's blog post, Big, Old and Beautiful.

Thanks! And I will keep you posted. I hope to have things set up by the end of this week - for episode two.

Great idea!

JoshRountree JoshRountree writes: Can I download this? Most podcasts I listen to have a link where you can download in mp3 format. I put it on my portable mp3 player and listen to it on the way to work or at the gym. Having to come to this web page limits me to when I can listen to the show.

Great idea though, I'd love to hear a weekly podcast from you guys, maybe even talk about some other stuff such as the internal workings of Fine Home Building, the Breaktime debacle, have guest contractors, etc. It's a neat way to connect to your readership...
