Gates and arbor with restored ironwork
comments (1) June 2nd, 2010 in Project GalleryThe arbor was made from PT pine, I had to acid bleach it though so it would stain up the same as the gates. The gates were made from 2x4 and 2x6 cedar found at a local Home Depot. The tricky part was jointing the edges flush. I don't have a jointer so had to make do with a set of off set fences on the router table. The joinery is mortise and tenon. I cut about 92 individual spacers to fit between the pickets. The iron work I found in a local antique store.
