Lenox Releases Uber-Recip Blades (and a really cool website)
comments (2) August 6th, 2010 in BlogsTo be honest, I was going to write a blog post about the new double-tang cast-iron cutting blade that Lenox recently released, but when I navigated to the company website I was immediately distracted by this new T2 generation of blades.
I don't know what the advertising budget is for something like this, but it's absolutely worth a visit (click here). I feel like I'm playing a video game on this site, it's way too much fun.
Oh yeah, and the T2 blades? The reason for all of this web-based hoopla? I wish I could tell you, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I have, however, looked at the videos of their independent testing (conducted by STR). It looks like Lenox T2 is shaming Milwaukee's Ice-Hardened blades in all three metal-cutting setups.
1 5/8-in. Unistrut
Milwaukee: 3 cuts
Lenox: 26 cuts
1 1/2-in. EMT Conduit
Milwaukee: 59 cuts
Lenox: 239 cuts
1/2-in. Threaded Rod
Milwaukee: 5 cuts
Lenox: 128 cuts

-if you have an optimum internet connection, yes, and then it'll help if you're ten years old- took me four tries to NOT be eligible for a free blade to try out. Gimme the specs and a price in a reasonable amount of time is all I ask...

To my knowledge, Milwaukee makes the only such reciprocating saw.
