Henry, my carpenters assistant.
Simple recessed panels are constructed using 1x4 poplar wood boards applied directly to drywall surface.
A shallow shelf at the top of the paneling allows for art and display.
The panels continue up the stair for a continuous look.
A monochromatic picture rail high on the wall and a crown moulding gives the room a finished look

This simple recessed paneling is constructed using 1x4 poplar wood boards attached directly to the existing drywall, which remains as the center panel. Each panel is trimed with applied panel moulding. A picture rail, monochromatic to match the brown wall color above, and a crown moulding at the ceiling finishes off the room.

The home is owned by husband and wife architects practicing in Westchester County, NY.

Ayersman Ayersman writes: Child Labor Laws anyone:) Nice work, obvious you are a professional. There is nothing more pleasing than fine wainscoting...I'd be interested if you ever did any design with the recessed panels on or under the stairways that hides access to storage under the stairs. Looking for inspiration and ideas.
