Project House Weekly Wrap, Episode 4: A Unique Way To Build Carriage-House Style Garage Doors

comments (0) February 24th, 2012 in Blogs
For use with Project House Blog videos only

Video Length: 9:30
Produced by: Colin Russell

In this episode, Fine Homebuilding editors Dan Morrison and Justin Fink show off the unique materials for the custom exterior doors for the Project House garage shop, including engineered 2x4s, fiber-cement panels, and repurposed replacement windows. Justin outlines the entire process of building the doors, runs through the materials list, and enlists Dan to help install the window glass and trim.

The initial design for these carriage-house style doors was inspired by a pair of workshop doors built by Fine Woodworking Magazine art director Michael Pekovich for his own garage shop.
