This townhome is part of the Water’s Edge development on the Clark Fork River, just upriver from Missoula, the home of the University of Montana. The project’s architecture was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright with low profile hip roofs; deep, sheltering eaves; broad bands of windows set in a low maintenance stucco exterior; and private, bamboo fenced entry courts. Individual units can be customized and finished to meet buyers’ tastes and budget.
As the developers of Water’s Edge, we finished this home with an Asian flair for our own residence in our retirement.
Unique features of the home include:
• an elevator providing access to a second floor loft/office and guest suite,
• an oversized, custom crafted master bedroom barn-style door with a half-moon shaped, reeded acrylic insert,
• a floor to ceiling section of a birch tree with a back-lite, reeded acrylic panel in the master suite foyer,
• an open Keuka cable railing staircase,
• an art glass interior window over the tub/shower in the guest bath/powder room,
• a round, reeded acrylic panel, interior guest bath widow,
• a large two level, elevated and low walled terrace overlooking the river,
• a 2″ thick, “L” shaped, maple slab kitchen island counter top with a natural edge,
• natural peeled log beams spanning the 2-story living room,
• custom bamboo cabinetry in kitchen, master/guest baths, dining room and living room (with sliding doors concealing the TV)
• a locally custom built “Murphy” bed in the lower level guest bedroom that enables the room to also be used as an exercise and sitting room.
The great room, master bedroom and second floor loft/office all offer spectacular views of the river, the beautiful 18 hole golf course directly across the river and the upper Clark Fork River valley beyond.
Receipt of the Memorable Decor and Craftsmanship awards as part of the local 2011 Parade of Homes is testament to the attention to detail and exquisite workmanship exhibited throughout this warm and inviting home.
