We had to PAINSTAKINGLY remove 2 thick layers of marine paint and a rock hard layer of old school wax with nothing but paint scrapers and sand paper. Pretty easy to want to cheat and use a machine, but this is an artform...
Hand rubbing the oil to seal the grain.

We own a hardwood floor refinishing comany in Vancouver and we are in love with restoring heritage hardwood floors. We attended many National Wood Floor Association technical schools and have been lucky enough to rub shoulders with some of the very best in the industry. This process is an idea i got from an article written in the NWFA magazine. Thank you Sprigg Lynn, Daniel Boone and Frank Kroupa for all of your help! Not only did our clients avoid removing this floor and replacing but they got one of the coolest floors we've ever done.
