Pacific Maple: a gorgeous rustic hardwood floor
comments (0) November 19th, 2012 in Project GalleryPaciific Maple is the most gorgeous hardwood floor that you probably have never heard of. I am not sure why Pacific Maple never broke into the hardwood floor mainstream. If i had to guess, it would be because it is not as hard as the eastern version of the Maple tree and not as stable as oak. If you can accept that this floor will dent and slightly shrink you can have an incredible floor. As is usual with hardwood floors, your expectations are essentail to your enjoyment. If you are the kind of person that will lose sleep at night if your floor dents, then Pacific Maple is definetely not for you. However, if you want a floor that will break in and take on a gorgeous rustic look then you should seriously consider this native west coast species.
