Screened In Porch Addition

Added a screened in porch to a 1935 farm house. Utilizing a cross gable on a shed roof seemed appropiate for a house with 7 gables already. The wrap around stairs allowed the clients to have unobstructed view of their beautiful yard.
PVC decking can be slippery when wet and cold like in the upper midwest.

Most screened porches are too small for one to thoroughly enjoy the space. With an adequate size the porch becomes a living room to the great outside. In season, this room is used more the the living room and the family room combined. Plexiglass inserts extend the usable season from April to November and protect the porch interior during Chicago's brutal winter weather.
