The Original Cabin built 4 years ago..16 by 16, wood heat, no water just a place to stay during hunting seasons and fishing
The build on was to be simple and easy...well, so much for that. The addition is 21 by 28, a full kitchen and bathroom. Build on real footings and real foundation..
Backfilled and insulation in place on crawlspace walls...
Raising the Gable end wall. Thank goodness for wall jacks...
Skipping a bunch of steps, here is the exterior from the front. The porch is great overlooking 2 1/2 acre pond

This project is a 90% DIY effort. I have extensive experience cabinet making and furniture building but this was biggest project I have done. The building is still in progress with hardwood floors drying and the cabinets waiting to be finished. I build walnut cabinets from wood from trees I harvested and floored thew cabin with redoak and tile. It has a wood stove as primary heat and an Amana hotel room AC/heat pump for back up.
