I have had this saw for over five years. I works great! I mounted it to a Porta cable moble base that folds up with the aid of a gas shock that takes some of the weight, making it easier to raise and lower. You can put it close to a wall and still slide the saw.I bevels right and left. The dust port is large enough to hook to a vaccume and works good. The only complant I have is the bevel lock on the back is har to reach.I did swap out the Hitachi blad right away for a Forrest chopmasterblade to do finish work and use the Hitachi blade for framing. The other thing that would be nice is a lazer with two lines one on eash side of the blade. I you are looking to buy a saw this is the one I recomend my others saws are being used for dust maginets.

Borrowed my buddies a few weeks ago. Bottom line I only returned it under threat of our friendship. It is a true workhorse that is quick and accurate. Santa if you're listening hint hint.

I have had this saw for 2 years now and it has been great. I have cut 6x6 like butter and done some fine finishing with this saw. I love this saw. I am currently using it at a deck job site and had one of the guys using it, he loves it as well. It is heavy but worth every once. 5 stars

The Editor's Review says it all. This is my 4th Miter saw....still own a 10" Ryobi. The Ryobi is very good but I have the Hitachi on a mobile stand with wheels and leave it on the stand as this is a very heavy saw to be trying to pack around. For the odd small jobs I use the Ryobi as it is easy to carry around but like the Editor says... the Hitachi is a work horse. The dual rails let you put this saw inches away from the wall which really helps when space is an issue. It slides extremely well and adjusts quite easily. The only thing which would have made it better is to have the bevel lock on top or out front as it is a big saw to be reaching around back to unlock.
