Re: Spray foam for the eco-conscious

A local commercial construction company specializing in foam has advised that the soy-foam will retain moisture and lead to mold and other problems. They put soy foam (open cell) and traditional closed-cell petro foam in a bucket of water. The soy foam absorbed a ton of water, but the other did not.

They also advised that the R value is lower, so you need a thicker layer of foam.

Has anyone heard of these issues?
