Matt Redmond, Director of Training at NYSWDA’s Energy Efficiency Training Center in Syracuse,NY brings 35 years of experience as a construction manager and offers a fresh hands-on approach to building science technical training. His background in project management and residential building with an emphasis on small finely crafted energy efficient homes led him to be the project manager on the first net zero energy retrofit in the US, a US Department of Energy test bed project, for Asdal Builders of New Jersey. Matt has continued to work with USDOE as a project consultant in retrofit standards development for both single family and manufactured housing,and as a member of the USDOE Weatherization Trainers Consortium. On an ongoing basis Matt works with New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR) on development of WAP technical standards and training curriculum. Recently he has completed consulting with the Building Performance Institute in the development of the online test for the NREL/BPI National Crew Chief Certification
