posted: 12:24 pm on April 22ndAnother nice, brick-driveway option that can be a little lighter on your pocketbook, is to install two brick "paths" for the tires and plant grass or a mossy ground cover between and adjacent to the tire "paths". This can have a landscaped look, somewhat akin to the patio driveway in the "design snapshot" above.

Rob, I believe this was just one "square" of a patio pattern -- not a border -- owned and designed by some very creative folks.

Rob, it often takes a number of elevation studies to get it right. It's a matter of balancing not only window size, relative to the overall elevation, but the amount of surrounding wall. A window that's too big may feel too dominant, and leave too tenuous a surrounding wall; a window that's too small may look somewhat lost in too vast a surrounding wall.
