RDCwood
I am a civil/mining engineer and have a diploma in woodworking and wood technology that I obtained in 1964 when I was 19 tears old.
Didn't persue a woodworking career since there was no future, at the time and where I lived [Mozambique], inspite of working in wood, specially in fine woodworking projects.
My interest in woodworking never waned, and today I continue woodworking as an hobby and when I am stressed out and depressed I go to the shop and smell the scent of wood, all my stress, frustation and depression goes away.

I thank, Tauton Press, Popular Woodworking and other publications on the subeject for keeping me up to date, but sometimes, I think that the extreme emphasis in jigs and technics, instead of on the projects, look seally.

Re: Craziest Shingle Tear-Off Method Ever?

With due respect
I think we are missing the mark here,

What needs to be asked is:
1 - Has the method been tested for safety?
2 - Is the equipemnt operating in the range of safety of the particualr equiment and methodology?
3 - Does it causes damage to the the underlay?
etc!

And not : morons, stupid, fire the contractor etc

What strikes me is the skill of the operator, even though It is not clear if he is directed by an assistant with good visibility of the part of the roof being stripped.

I want to make clear that I am not endorsing the technique but I am also not comdemning it whithout having more information of it.
