I guess you learned my lesson to always carry a spare bit AND the little wrench/screwdriver/thingy needed to change it whenever you bring a hole saw to the party. I think I would have kept a cordless recip handy for emergancy use, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Re: Slinky Nail Set Is Great for Tight Spots
I find those things also handy for driving nails into loose "springy" wood, like poorly supported lath in plaster walls. the sharpness of impact pulls the nail tighter than hammering.

I had bought some special demo blades at JLC Live a while back. They were thick and had curved blades. The paint is all worn off the blades, though they still cut well. I think the brand had some kind of animal name to it. They had 3 colors, red (aggressive wood), yellow (metal) and green (looks like all purpose). It might be worth asking around if they are still made (I'm sure one of the guys around Breaktime will recognize them) and add them in as a unique blade type.

Maybe it's just me, but having a rip fence that needs to be checked each cut puts it in the ryobi/toy category compared to the DeWalt. If it is going to be heavier, they should have put the weight into a rigid fence system.

How about impact driver vs drill/driver? can an impact driver replace a drill/driver, or do you need both? just an idea. the higher torque makes me ponder whether there are some jobs that an impact driver just can't do.

I have already destroyed a few DeWalt impact phillips bits. I am currently trying out some from McFeely's which are supposed to be impact specific. We'll see...
