Re: Cheat Sheet for SketchUp: a Quick-Start Guide for 3D Modeling
I fiddle with homebuilding, wood working and a jillion other fun things to do. I love Sketchup - if you take a look at what you can do with 3D modeling (e.g. the miter table in this blog), you will never want to go back to 2D of any form.

BUT the rewards are just too great to ignore (again IMHO) so I have just kept banging away at it. I went through the video tutorials, bought a book (Sketchup for Dummies - Not great in my opinion) and just kept trying new things with it. The one study aid I would definitely recommend is the ebook from Fine Woodworking on Sketchup. Only $12.95 - buy it, download it and go through it - you will learn a ton.
Bottom line - fantastic program and (as someone else commented) you can't beat the price. You can do it but it certainly took me more than a couple of days to become moderately proficient.
Re: Titanium hammers up for grabs. Want one?
I love good tools and I think it is well worth while buying quality and performance for both the short and the long haul. I have some tools that I bought more than 40 years ago and, although my useage as a hobbyist and amateur woodworker is low, those tools are still trucking along. Since I don't use a hammer for my livelihood and my finances are a bit too scant to permit buying a titanium hammer, I probably won't. But, boy, I would sure love to have one!

Re: Loooong Overdue Bathroom Remodel
What a nice makeover! Looks great but my back aches at the thought of all the work! The results were obviously worth it.
