Re: Light in the Tunnel: A Moldy Crawlspace Nightmare Part 4
Having sealed the crawl space in my own house, I would strongly suggest installing a dehumidifier in the crawl space that can run at lower temperatures. Run a fixed drain line from the dehumidifier to an inside drain. This will really help prevent the moisture levels from reaching the point that caused all the rot in the first place. Thanks for sharing this horror story with us. There was at least redemption at the end of it all.

Re: Kitchen in 1776 colonial
I am really impressed with the level of detail in the design and execution of your kitchen remodel. I lived through my parents doing a really bad kitchen in a late 18th century house in New Hampshire. The scale of the paneling in your cabinets is first rate. It really looks like a continuation of the paneled wall around the fireplace in another late 18th century house I lived in growing up.

Keep up the good work. Barns are worth saving. They are functional and they preserve an aspect of our culture that is being lost building by building. Post more photos when you can.

I really like how you integrated the bumpout outside. You had that great pent (correct name?) to tuck the box under. So often I see the bumpout added with just a little shed roof. The living room is much better for your addition
