Re: 7 Rules for Remodelers

Excellent article, Mike. Great comments by the peanut gallery. The only thing missing from our company perspective is the no-smoking policy when in a client's home or even on their property if they request that. Usually we are allowed to smoke outside the home. We police the butts. Same with subs. Courtesy is required all the time.

The comment about having posted code of conduct/policies in the applicable language (ours are Spanish and English) is a good one.

Re: A Modest (Green) Proposal

I really like the ideas you are proposing, Michael. Multiple benefits, as listed in the comments. Almost instantaneous startup. Great opportunity for builders/remodelers to prosper in a dismal economic climate.

As I mentioned in our emails, the biggest opposition to this will come from the big power producers who will see it as a threat to their profit margins. It'll take some serious clout to overcome their lobby, but if ever there were a time to do it, the time is now.

I'm on board.
