Re: Code-change alert: Fire sprinklers in all new homes
There should be exemptions for nonflammable construction.
posted: 9:20 am on August 17thI am building a 4400-sq ft earth-sheltered house entirely out of concrete. While I agree that the contents could burn, that would be unlikely to cause my demise. Having to install sprinklers would be a needless cost and a waste of resources.
Re: Titanium hammers up for grabs. Want one?
I like my Stiletto for reasons in addition to the nice, light, powerful hit. I like the way the nail pullers are set up and I like being able to switch between finish and framing faces. I also like the support offered by the Stiletto people. When my new hammer's face wouldn't come off, they sent me another wrench to replace the one I'd candy-caned in trying. I don't use a manual hammer as much as some, so the lesser weight on my belt is a good thing. It was expensive, that's for sure. But now I watch out for my hammer, whereas before I didn't much care what happened to it...!
