David graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1970 with a B. Arch. and from the University of Oregon in 1976 with an M. Arch. David practiced architecture in Eugene with Rob Thallon from 1980 to 1997 and produced a wide variety of residential and planning projects. He's still at work in his home office on nice projects.
After an introduction to the Pattern Language at Kentucky, David developed extensive experience at the University of Oregon at the time of The Oregon Experiment. The Pattern Language is still an important part of the practice. We wrote a description of how we use the Pattern Language in our work for the December 1986 issue of Fine Homebuilding.
