Our kitchen

Our kitchen

Our house isn't flashy..just a little 2232 sq. ft. house with a full basement, but we did it ourselves.  Took eight years. That's the fridge hidden in that white cabinet...Fine Homebuilding...

Re: Our kitchen

Thanks, Ray.

Yes, we like the stools and the step-up but I thought about it long and hard...it is rather permanent.

Our house evolved into a kind of Pottery Barn Farmhouse...can't say that I was thinking of that from the onset but it just evolved. I think the island arrangement with the 50's stools helps adds a little punch and keeps the design from feeling too traditional.

Also non-traditional...I loathe overhead cabinets so my husband made me very deep drawers for dinnerware and appliances. I love it, and right off the kitchen is a large walk-in pantry...though not as large as I'd like.
