It needs to be easy and quick enough to set up to actually use. The stand I have now is simple to set up and results in me reaching for that for a quick nice cut where as in the past I would have gotten out my circular saw and propped whatever I was working on on the case. It also needs to be light enough to move around but heavy enough to be sturdy. The easier and simpler the stand is the more you will use your miter saw.
