Re: How to get a pantry from nothing
Space blanket?
posted: 8:19 pm on January 24thI have a feeling that doesn't have much insulating value...
Where are you located?
That sure would not fly in Edmonton, AB.
That would be one big heat sink that you would dread going into the kitchen.
Re: Set Tile Without Mastic or Thinset
A similar product, maybe even the same, just not aware of the name, is available at HD in Canada (Edmonton) but it is expensive. I also have to wonder how the tiles would adhere if there is a bit of unevenness in the wall?

I noticed that all the milling was done in the house.
posted: 11:34 pm on August 16thI think that is a bad idea.
That must have created an incredible amount of dust.
That dust would have gotten into every crack and crevice and light fixture.
The dust would have also stuck to the ceiling and walls.
Absolutely every square inch of that house would have to be dusted.
Re: Keep a Paintbrush From Drying Out Between Coats
Cling wrap is the way to go.
posted: 12:38 am on July 6thi always keep a roll in my workshop.
I wrap about 3 times around a roller, finishing it off by giving the cling wrap a diagonal twist to get out all the air and then tucking in the ends.
I have kept a roller from one weekend to the next.
I only keep paint brushes for a few hours because the paint will always begin to dry near the top of the bristles.
Re: Tough Folding Tweezers Easily Remove Splinters
Lee Valley sells a pair of tweezers that are very finely ground and are excellent for removing even the tiniest slivers.
posted: 11:47 pm on June 20thJust last night, I pulled out a sliver that was only a sixteenth of an inch and very fine.
They are about $7 to $8.
Re: A Better "Better Way" to Paint Doors
I have my own, not so high tech way of painting doors that works well if you have an unfinished ceiling or workshop.
posted: 10:42 pm on September 14thI put a couple of screws in the top of a door and then suspend it with a couple of wires from the ceiling.
I can finish all six sides with only a couple of screw holes.
Do the top and bottom first.
Face and back next.
Then the latch and hinge sides last.
If you want to, put a screw where the centre hinge would be and that could be a handle .
Can also put a screw where the knob or latch will be. But not dead centre because it might affect your drilling.
Re: Small Drywall Patch
That is the first thing I noticed too... no mud on the edge of the patch or hole, to cement everything together.
posted: 10:21 pm on September 14thWhile I enjoy 'better way', I have to ask how did an incomplete tip like this get through?
Makes you wonder what may be missing in other tips.

I thought this was a gallery of work, not advertising for architects?
