Great blog, couldn't agree more. Homes should also be required to take advantage of free passive solar heat when available in cooler climates. We did and our energy bills here in cloudy MI are 1/5 of others and our south facing roof is ready for solar heat and elect. panels. Effects of global warming are already happening and will only get worse.

Contrary Cheney's comments, conservation is the most economical green technology by many orders of magnitude!
