21180 7-1/4-in. Miter Saw with Laser Trac

Craftsman - 21180 7-1/4-in. Miter Saw with Laser Trac

This 16-lb., 71/4-in. miter saw from Craftsman looks minuscule compared to 10-in. and 12-in. saws, but its mobility makes it useful.

$90.00 (As of 1/17/2008)

Carrying around a chopsaw with a cast iron base has finally become too much. I came across this saw in Sears the other day and said "16 pounds...yes" It is a well made unit that you can carry with one hand. It comes fully assembled and holds its bevels right where they should be. I suggest reading the manual to see that the little red button on the front locks the blade for changing and is not a break. And it does take two AAA batteries to run the laser. The laser beam is a little thick for my liking but works as advertised. In general, I gave $80 for this saw and moved the old monster to the shelf. It is small but for the majority of homeowners that need a small chop saw, this will fill the bill.
