There is nothing fancy about this sander, but its smart features made it our choice for best value among the seven right-angle sanders we tested. The chunky body is surprisingly easy to grasp, and the on/off switch is positioned perfectly for either thumb. Stability was average in our testing. Dust collection--with the included 10-ft. hose--was excellent regardless of speed, grit, or material. The dust shroud can be loosened and rotated, making it easier to get into tight places. The motor discharged an annoying airstream. This sander can be ordered with a 5-in. pad (model no. 97355).
