Editor's Review: Cordless Reciprocating Saws Almost Come of Age

This cordless reciprocating saw has a unique dual-stroke range. Although longer strokes produce faster cuts, shorter strokes produce less vibration and a more controlled cut, which is useful when plunge-cutting, for instance. This smooth saw, at 19 in. the longest we tested, had the second-fastest cutting speed and was one of the endurance champions. One drawback to this saw was that the barrel became uncomfortably hot to grasp after about 30 seconds of cutting time. Although this saw was more expensive than the others, it comes with two batteries. It also comes with two blades and a plastic case.
