Editor's Review: Choosing an Air Compressor You Can Carry

review date: April 1, 2006

Compact enough to move around inside, the Bostitch CAP2560OL still has enough air volume to power a framing nailer. This pancake compressor is oil lubricated, which means that it runs quieter and will likely last longer than most oilless models. This also means, however, that it requires regular maintenance (checking the oil level and changing the oil). It has a 6-gal. tank and an air-volume capacity of 3.6 cfm at 90 psi. It has a tool capacity of three finish nailers, or two roofing nailers, or one framing nailer. Despite its compact size, at 50 lb. it was the heaviest model in its category.
