Editor's Review: Keeping Kids Off Your Scaffold

review date: March 1, 2002

I've been roped into siding a number of houses. After ten hours of working in the sun, the rain or the cold, the reality of taking down my ladders and loading them onto my truck wasn't a perfect ending to the workday.

If I'd had a Crilly locking bar, I could have locked a piece of 1x10 over the rungs, keeping neighborhood kids from climbing them and protecting my ladders from theft. That seems much more manageable at the end of the day than does lowering and loading a 32-ft. type 1A ladder.
