Editor's Review: Belt Sanders Get Better
by Michael Standish
review date: November 1, 2007
Craftsman's low-priced 3-in. by 21-in. belt sander features a transverse motor and excellent belt tracking. The belt on the model tested spun perfectly right out of the box. The speed-control dial is well within reach, although it is too stiff to spin comfortably. The sander is somewhat skittish and harder to control than similar models from other manufacturers. It has an excellent trigger lock.
The manufacturer warns against putting pressure directly on the front rollers, so this sander should not be used for concave scribing. No accessories are available for this model.
