The final touch in a new kitchen or bathroom is the beads of sealant that go around the tub, sink, backsplash, and countertops. Unless you’re using a color-matched sealant, the typical choice is to finish these surfaces with a bead of clear sealant, typically silicone. The problem is that most clear silicones dry to a cloudy translucent rather than to crystal clear. DAP recently updated its full 3.0 series of interior and exterior sealants, which includes a 100% waterproof silicone alternative that is crystal clear when dry. These low-odor, VOC-compliant MicroBan-enhanced products feature a 10-year warranty and are waterproof in 30 minutes, so the room is ready to occupy sooner than when using silicone.
