Editor's Review: Not Your Old Saw
by Rick Arnold, Mike Guertin

This circular saw has one of the best lines of sight on any saw we tested and also one of the best bevel detent systems for 22.5 degree and 45 degree settings (with a maximum of 56 degree). In addition, its scales, which are in single-degree increments, are easy to read. It has a 1-1/2-in. cutting depth at 53 degrees. Its ribbed-magnesium base helps to keep the saw light, but at shallow depths, it has a lot of flex. The machine we tested delivered smooth guard retraction on all cuts, including simple miters beginning from both the long and short points as well as compound miters, again from both directions. It also did an excellent job of moving dust out of the rear port.

Editor's Review: Lightweight 7-1/4-in. Circular Saws
by John Spier
review date: May 1, 2002
Overall, this saw is smooth and powerful. Its 15-amp motor operates at 5,800 rpm, and it is sturdier than the DW359, making it a good choice.
The base of the DW368 is strong and flat, and is made of a die-cast magnesium alloy. The saw's bevel-adjustment knob is in front, and the depth adjustment is to the right of the handle and next to the blade housing. The saw can be set to bevel slightly more than 56 degrees, with detents at 22-1/2 degrees and 45 degrees. It can, however, cut through 2x stock only to about 50 degrees.
My only real criticism of this saw is that the forward grip seems too small, which limits its usefulness, especially while retracting the blade guard.
