Editor's Review: Cordless Reciprocating Saws Almost Come of Age

review date: November 1, 2001

The barrel of this cordless reciprocating saw became uncomfortably hot during extended cutting, enough so that our tester had to switch hands often. The wrenchless blade clamp mounted on the saw body was easy to use. This saw has an AC/DC converter (sold separately) that allows you to run it on AC power. It also has onboard blade storage for one spare blade, and a charger with a tune-up mode that, the manufacturer claims, prolongs battery life. It comes with two blades and a plastic case.
