Just love this tool. Having used 12v drills for years as a driver I couldn't see what I needed a impact driver for. Boy was I wrong! Compact size, light weight, faster drive speed and ironically, the LED light. What do I need a light for? I'm surprised just how often I find myself using it. The nice thing is the light does stay on after the trigger is released. This way you can use it as a momentary flashlight. I only wish the smaller batteries were compatible with the larger ones.

5 After using several earlier Makita and Dewalt models I knew that this was a must purchase .No regrets! I must say that there is now a BID(Before Impact Driveer) and AID (After Impact Driver) facet to owning this tool, countless advantages. Slip free driving, with excellent power, no more wasted time and hardware. An A+. 5, no question. If you haven't made the move yet jump on, lightweight efficient, effortless... a must own

I loved this impact driver. Its super light and drives 4" deck screws into LVL with relative ease. I did however drop it off a 6 foot scaffold onto a concrete floor and it broke in half. So I returned it. With the refund money, I bought a Hilti impact driver. It was twice the price, and twice the tool. The batteries last longer, a smoother more powerful tool, and LED lights positioned behind the drill bit for better coverage. I always felt the light on the Makita was in a bad spot(never lit up the area I needed to see. I drive thousands of screws weekly and this is by far the best impact driver on the market. If I had to switch to a cheaper model....I would buy the Makita again or the Dewalt......all the rest of them are OK at best. Chris (Commercial Carpenter)
